Recording Advices

• Sounds come from the player and its equipment in priority
• Bring your equipment for a check up at a string-instrument maker (check the neck, the strings of guitares and basses…)
• Change and check your drum skins (at least the top one)
• Tape your rehearsals in order to be able to stand back on your compositions
• Clic isn’t mandatory in studio. It is only useful if the drummer plays regularly with a metronome (live or during rehearsals)
• Do bass / drums and guitar / bass rehearsals
• Work on your texts and pronunciations. The more the singer will be at ease with the texts, the more the emotions will be big
• Do as much rehearsals as possible all together, at least a month before the recording
• Prepare a list of the tracks, detailing the tones, tempo, the role of the instrumentalists and the groups expectations (references / esthetics…)
• Export tracks in 24 bits.

Be careful to keep the dynamic on the tracks, taking away the compressors on the stereo bus master and at -6 dbfs maximum
